HGH and Hormones - Is HGH a hormone?

Human Growth Hormone, although misleading because of its name, is not actually a hormone. It is a group of 191 amino acids. Its chemical name is Somatropin. Human growth hormone decreases as people age which causes a wide range of consequences such as a slower metabolism and slower healing. Naturally, avoiding these things would lead to better health.

The place of production is in the pituitary gland. At first it could only be extracted from dead cadavers. However, hgh is now available in other forms due to advances in genetic engineering.
