A new test
completed in Switzerland may be able to detect human growth
hormone in athletes and be ready for the Athens Olympics.
The World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) is the body that comes
out with these tests. They are the body that puts in place
the standards for tests for steroids, drugs, and other
illegal items.
WADA has chosen
to not publish whether the text will be available or not.
This will keep anyone attempting to cheat unsure of whether
their actions will be caught or not. WADA also says that
even if the treatment is not ready by Athens, by taking
samples from the athletes they will be able to test them
after the fact to identify anyone using illegal substances.
HGH is one illegal substance that there has been no
detection method for. Officials hope that this new test can
help put an end to cheating in sports.
